Default The most useless skill in the game:

I would like to see a list going, and hopfully something be done with them...

Mind Freeze ELITE (Hex Spell) Target foe suffers 10..34 cold damage. If you have more Energy than target foe, that foe suffers an additional 10..34 cold damage and moves 50% slower for 2..5 seconds. This spell causes Exhaustion.

I really really don't see a point of this... Unless someone want to tell me it ignore armor... same slow down as other ice spells, situational damage, low damage at max, 20 recharge and 10 cost, not AoE, Elite, and it cause exhausion... Someone tell me how the hell to use this thing??

There's a couple ranger shots that have increased arrow speed, but not increased attack speed, which means that pretty much nobody ever uses them.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the pet skill Otyugh's Cry (SP?) seems pretty silly. Turns animals in the area against enemies (for 30 seconds or something), but can't turn a pet against it master. I tried this out thinking it might turn some of the neutral animals wandering the explorable areas against hostiles (which would still be pretty pointless, but funny), but had no effect on them. Exactly which animals is this supposed to effect and who are they going to turn on?

Mind Freeze is far underpowered compared to its Fire and Air counterparts. The damage is subpar for a skill with that recharge/damage/exhaustion/elitetag. I would just use shard storm instead.

The most useless skill ever has always been Unnatural Signet. It was so useless that rather than fix it to make it useful, the devs just removed it from the game completely.

Increased arrow speed makes interruption easier, so no, they aren't useless.

Also increased arrow speed decreases the amount of time for them to change direction and dodge the arrow (which is possible). It's like trying to shoot someone across a football field with a sniper rifle or by throwing a tennis ball at them, which do you think will be more accurate? The faster one, the sniper bullet.

It seems like it would be a way to call a target for all of your partys animals to attack, so it might be useful then to focus all your rangers pets on a single target.

I played with this last night for fun. Got 4 wolves helping me out in one of the Ice caves areas, and several Lynxes came to help out against the Tengu folks near Lion's Arch, but I agree that it isn't particularly great - I don't know that it turned the tide or really made much of an impact. It may also be adding that armour to all allied animals, in which case a ranger group with a few animals in it may want one ranger carrying this to cut the damage dealt to pets by 29% or so. It was fun to hear the wolves howling and see them run into the fight, but I think without spamming Order of Pain or something it won't make a huge difference, though they are decent meat shields. Maybe even Mark of pain, as they hit frequently for less damage than you do.

I've wanted to try Otyugh's Cry (LOL why Otyugh? weird) but all the regular animals in the game are such sissies I figured it'd really only be good for a laugh.

Exept that those skills do not interrupt.

Distraction shot is an interrupt skill that by default has increased attack speed, ineased damage and a 20 second cooldown on interrupted spells. It's far superior to any other quick shot skill, which have neither.

choking gas + quick shot/call shot ;o

mind freeze is completely utterly useless... if u want to escape, just use shard storm... the same 5 sec slow down. and if one want damage... just get arcane echo and do water trident machine gun.

while oty cry thing... it is only good for laugh... before the animal in the wild are around the same lv as the mob around, but now they change all those animal into lv5... pretty useless.

Instead of using an on-demand interrupt skill that is unconditional and costs very little energy, you would rather use two skills that cost over three times the energy, require preparation and only guarantee at most a 10 second window to maybe land the right interrupts with no added deniability once the preparation expires?

I mean theorycraft sounds fun for you, but in practicality if you think choking gas makes quick shot desirable over distracting shot by any stretch, if useful at all, then you've been choking on too much gas yourself.
